Proper research is the cornerstone to a successful search process. While we are a
small firm, we have deployed as many as twelve researchers for a single client engagement
to put possible acquisition candidates through our proprietary screening matrix.
We don't contact all possible target companies as some firms advertise, but
rather are more scientific in determining which companies are most likely to be desirable
targets.
Once we have found a suitable target, we cultivate a dialog with the owner and set
the stage for our client to have the best shot at making a purchase. Although we
are the buyer's agent, we often succeed in becoming personally close to the seller,
and thus can reach deeply into the nuances of the personalities on both sides. These
small human variables are often the determinate of a deal that succeeds or fails.
Depending on the resources and the needs of our client, we are ready to actively
participate in all phases of the acquisition process with the exception of due diligence
services. We are skilled contract negotiators and look to reduce our client's exposures
at every instance.
