TMP Worldwide, Inc. (now Monster Worldwide, Inc.) engaged Acquest in early 2000
to assist them in realizing their "Intern-to-CEO" vision. This required
providing mid-range profession-driven staffing services globally to fill the void
between their low cost, lesser-added-value Monster.com and TMP Worldwide's high-end
executive search practice.
To handle this assignment with global scope, Acquest recruited an additional team
of 10 researchers. With a total of fifteen staff engaged full time on this assignment,
we narrowed our target universe from several thousand companies to approximately
1,200 companies in 11 European countries, Canada and the United States.
Of these 1,200 companies which had characteristics desirable to our client, Acquest
initiated dialog with approximately 200 firms and arranged for face to face meetings
with more than 75. In the end, TMP purchased 15 of these firms, which were located
in 5 European countries, Canada and the United States. TMP's objective to quickly
build a major staffing business had been met. Representing TMP in 15 of the 19 acquisitions
made by their eResourcing division in 2000 and 2001, Acquest played a critical role
in creating a major staffing group with $1.5 billion in sales and operations in 8
countries.
